Family
The people of the plateau lived and traveled together in family groups. The division of labor in a family was split along gender lines. Men had certain responsibilities as did the women. The men were the decision makers in the family. They hunted, trapped, fished, and making of tools and warfare. The women were responsible of making food, harvesting plants, caring for the children and home, and making clothing.
Social Structure And Leadership
The Plateau people had no social classes, and got along fairly well. Sharing food between one another was almost mandatory because they were nomadic and moved around a lot. Each village had one or several leaders or Chiefs. Chiefs were often older and wise. Only men could help decide on decisions with the Chief. They had a council of elders who gave advice and had apart in community issues.
